The 105 and 115 series Alfa Romeo Spider (convertibles) are widely regarded as a design classic with body design by Pininfarina. Alfa Romeo Spiders were produced by Italian automobile manufacturer, Alfa Romeo, from 1966 through 1994 in four general design groups and powered by a twin overhead cam 4 cylinder engine regarded as very advanced for its era with roots going back to 1954. The engine was made with aluminum alloy block, pan and head with cast iron cylinder sleeves, forged steel crank, 5 main bearings, hemispherical combustion chambers, and dual overhead cams. Webber carbuerators (40DCOE) were replaced first by Spica mechanical fuel injection and then later by Bosch "L" jetronic and later Bosch "Motronic" fuel injection. Engine displacement ranged from 1.6 L (1570 cc), 1.8 L (1779 cc) and 2.0 L (1962 cc). Learn more about the 30 year run of Alfa Spiders at Wikipedia. The Graduate convertible model was introduced after the car gained attention in the movie "The Graduate" staring Dustin Hoffman as Ben. Ben actually drove the Alfa Romeo Duetto convertible model produced in 1966 and 1967.
